Joel Silverstein - Publisher Sub Aqua

Joel Silverstein is a highly respected diving professional, educator, and expedition leader with over three decades of experience. With more than 6,600 dives, including 3,900 on shipwrecks worldwide, Silverstein is a master of underwater safety and mixed-gas diving techniques.

From 1991 to 1997, Silverstein served as the Publisher and Editor of SUB AQUA, a magazine dedicated to diving technology, exploration, and shipwreck discovery. Since 2004, he has owned and operated Scuba Training and Technology Inc. and Tech Diving Limited, an Instructor Development center that trains divers at all levels, organizes expeditions, and distributes dive equipment globally.

Silverstein’s expertise includes equipment design, authoring publications on diving science, and investigating diving accidents as a subject matter expert. His dedication to advancing diving education and passion for underwater exploration have made him a leading figure in the technical diving community.

Today, Silverstein shares his knowledge with high school students, teaching biology and marine science, while continuing to explore the world’s oceans and push the boundaries of underwater discovery.
